Position 
The Law Society's Finance team is seeking an experienced full-time Accounting Analyst provide support to the Director of Finance / CFO and the Saskatchewan Lawyers' Insurance team to assist with the safe and proper handling of monies, as well as accounting for and reporting of the financial health of both organizations. 

The position resides in the Regina office. While an onsite arrangement is strongly preferred, hybrid arrangements will be considered on a case-by-case basis. 
 
The responsibilities of this position include: 
  • Assist with the completion of the monthly and year-end financial records through the collection of data, performing calculations, and preparing reconciliations
  • Participate in the annual external audit process for the Law Society and the Saskatchewan Lawyers' Insurance
  • Assist with the processing of annual fees and assessments
  • Review vendor invoices and staff expenses for accuracy and coding and coordinate payment of such items in a timely manner
  • Record transactions and other information in insurance software
  • Assist with the follow up on outstanding accounts receivable
 
Key competencies and qualifications  
Qualifications 
  • Successful applicants will possess the following qualifications: 
  • Relevant training with at least 5 years of bookkeeping and / or accounting experience
  • Intermediate or advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office with an emphasis on Excel
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills delivering accurate updates on a timely basis
  • General understanding of full cycle accounting and fundamental accounting concepts
  • Proven ability to manage multiple complex tasks and priorities within tight deadlines
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and multitasking skills, with a focus on achieving results efficiently
  • General knowledge of accounting software - experience in Sage 300 Accounting would be an asset
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, and an ability to work effectively in a team-based environment
  • Ability to work independently in an environment where a high level of attention to detail, accuracy and confidentiality are paramount
Lived experience as a member of an equity-seeking/equity-deserving group will also be considered an asset.
